It is with a sense of sadness and personal loss that I share that our beloved FCU member Carole Tillis passed away Saturday, October 28th. Carole died peacefully in her home with her wife Carolyn and family and friends by her side.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Carole on Saturday, November 11th at 10:00 a.m. at First Church Unitarian. After the service, the Women's Alliance and friends are graciously hosting a reception downstairs.
Attending in person
For those of you willing and able to do so, the family has three requests.
- First, please wear purple or flamingo-related clothing in lieu of black if attending in person.
- Second, if you have a photo of Carole that you like (whether of Carole alone or with you or others), please bring it downstairs to the reception after the service; there will be twine and clothespins for you to hang your photos.
- Third, if you're able to bring cash or a check for a donation in lieu of flowers, please bring that downstairs to the reception too; you will be able to donate to either the Human Rights Campaign or Planned Parenthood, and in exchange you will receive a memento (a groovy skirt or social justice t-shirt) from Carole's collection.
