Welcome to the Talent Auction!
Welcome to the FCU Talent Auction, celebrating the joy, creativity, generosity and kindness in this amazing community!
How the Auction Works
The Auction is an annual week-long fundraising event, usually held in the spring. It includes two main parts - online bidding on a catalog of items and a live raffle. Online bidding is open from noon of the first Sunday until 6PM of the closing Sunday and the raffle is held on the closing Sunday.
In the weeks leading up to the Auction, the organizing team solicits donations from the congregation, which may include services such as painting or yardwork, events such as dinners or game nights, and items of all kinds including artwork and delicious homemade treats. Donations can be made using the form found here. The catalog of available items is then posted on the Auction website hosted by Auctria where you can see and bid on items of interest during the 8 days of online bidding.
Also prior to the opening day, new members and friends of our community are invited to register for the upcoming fun. This required registration keeps the auction local, ensuring that both donors and winners of your offerings are known to us.
At the close of bidding, you will receive a system-generated statement for the items you won. This allows you to pay online with a credit card (and we so very much appreciate if you can cover the credit processing fees), but there are several other ways to pay, as well. Our favorite is by check made out to FCU with Auction in the memo line. We usually collect checks, cash or Venmo payments on the Sundays following the Auction, but checks can also be mailed to the church marked attn: Assistant Treasurer.
Items for the raffle portion of the Auction are also listed on the Auctria website under the Raffle tab. On the two Sundays of the auction, raffle tickets can be purchased before and after services ($1 for a single ticket or 6 tickets for $5). Your tickets can then be placed in the bags marked for the items you are interested in. Winners are drawn on the second Sunday. You do not need to be present to win and all winners are notified that afternoon by email.
Following the Auction all winners or both the online bidding and raffle are posted on this page. See Past Auctions - Catalogs and Winners below.
