March – Wisdom

March – Wisdom

“The day the child realizes that all adults are imperfect, he becomes an adolescent; the day he forgives them, he becomes an adult; the day he forgives himself, he becomes wise.” Alden Nowlan

“The value of the average conversation could be enormously improved by the constant use of four simple words: ‘I do not know.’” Andre Maurois

“Wisdom is not gained by knowing what is right. Wisdom is gained by practicing what is right and noticing what happens when that practice succeeds and when it fails.” Barbara Brown Taylor

“Keep me away from the wisdom which does not cry,
the philosophy which does not laugh,
and the greatness which does not bow before children.” Khalil Gibran

3/1: “Making Junk Sculptures”: We’ll raid the RE supplies and recycle/reuse them to create interesting stuff. Sometimes simple things are best and can be as satisfying (or even more satisfying) as things that requires expensive equipment.

3/8: “Auction Project”: The group will be making a special item to be auctioned on March 22 to help raise funds for FCU.
3/15: Whole Congregation Worship, “Wisdom”. We’ll explore aspects of wisdom with a short play, meditation, a homily, and music.

3/22: We’ll finish our auction project for sale today.

3/29: We’ll make kites out of recycled materials and attempt to fly them.
