Creative Members Re-Imagine FCU

Creative Members Re-Imagine FCU

Several months ago, the Standing Committee reached out to our committees and asked them to “re-imagine” their committees’ work in these crazy and unpredictable times of a world-wide pandemic.  No doubt about it, we are living our lives very differently and “doing” church differently as well.  With that said I’d like to share some of the re-imaging success stories that I have stumbled onto at FCU.
Julie Bucceri did not let the fact that there was no Annual Country Fair this year keep her from creating some gem stone magic.  She went through all the leftover jewelry donations, untangled chains, polished silver and then put her investigative skills to work to determine if there were some true treasures amongst all the donations.  She found a gold coin a few years ago that she put aside to get appraised and low and behold sold the coin for $350.00!   Looks like Julie’s efforts will yield over $2,000.00 for a fair that didn’t happen.  Kudos to you Julie on a job well done!
The Jammin in the Kitchen folks re-imaged the Country Store using the Auctria software to create an online jam shopping experience.  Shop for all the wonderful jam from the comforts of your own home.   The sale runs from October 1st through 7th and their efforts should yield revenue exceeding $2,0000.
Sara Cope has re-imagined our Hospitality sign ups and moving forward you will be able to provide the flowers for our online church services.   A picture of your flower arrangement will be seen at the beginning of our church service and during the transition pieces of our services.  You will also have the opportunity to share if your flowers are given in honor of or in celebration of a loved one or event.
Online breakout rooms for after church have been created by our IT team which are designed to replicate the coffee hour experience without all the work or clean up!  Just grab your own cup of coffee or tea and enjoy catching up with some of your FCU friends or find some new friends.   Brilliant I say!
Lastly, our amazing RE team has created continuity and connections for our young ones.  They have gotten creative with their pandemic programming for in person and online gatherings with the utmost attention to support our parents through this very challenging time.   It is so comforting to know how much these kids are being loved up.
Do you have a “re-imaging FCU experience to share with us?  We would love for you to share your creativity!  Just send us an email at SC@fculittle.org so we can include it in our next blog post.
With so much appreciation for this community,
The Standing Committee
