Mindful Meditation - Fri June 21st - 7:30-9pm

The benefits of meditation have become well known in our culture, as more people (and more types of people) have developed meditation practices to reduce stress and enhance emotional/mental equilibrium. One of the most popular approaches to meditation is “mindful meditation” (or “mindfulness meditation”), defined generally as a non-sectarian, research-based form derived from the Buddhist practice of Insight Meditation. It is intended to develop the skill of paying attention to inner and outer experiences with acceptance, patience, and compassion. The Adult Enrichment Committee has scheduled this facilitated Mindful Meditation session. The session will meet in the Vestry (or downstairs in case of excessive heat).

Workshop: How to Live Justly and Soulfully in a Deeply Divided World - Sun June 23rd - 2-4pm

The Multicultural Task Force, The Beloved Conversations Project, and the Adult Enrichment Committee at FCU have partnered with two national organizations "Be Present" www.bepresent.org and "Harvest Time" www.harvesttime.cc and to offer a workshop on Soul and Justice. The workshop will be led by Nancy Thurston, author of the book Big Topics at Midnight A Texas Girl Wakes up to Race, Class, Gender and Herself. It should be an afternoon of fun, reflection and autobiographical self-reflection...not to be missed!

Loaves and Fishes - ongoing collection

Loaves & Fishes exists as a mission of love and faith to serve people of Ayer, Devens, Groton, Harvard, Littleton, and Shirley by providing food, emergency shelter, resource referral, other temporary services, and by advocating for changes by its clients that will promote independence and self reliance. The Council on Social Justice asks you to bring at least one item a month for the Loaves and Fishes food pantry.

Place items in the Loaves & Fishes collection boxes in the front Vestibule as you enter the church. Thank you for sharing with others.
