On behalf of the Search Team I would like to thank everyone at FCU for showing us such wonderful support and for your willingness to share your dreams of the future too. We are delighted to announce that we have asked Rev. Lara Hoke to come and candidate at FCU for the position of Settled Minister from April 22 to April 29th with a warranted meeting on April 29th to vote on a call. If the vote is successful and Rev. Lara accepts the call then she will start as our new minister on August 1st with her first worship service as our new minister at our Ingathering on September 12th.
The members of the search team hope you have a chance to meet Rev Lara and hear her preach. We were blown away when we witnessed her preaching for ourselves. We found her to be deeply passionate about Unitarian Universalism, preaching, music, social justice and so much more. She has a warm and open personality and a deep wisdom honed in years of experience. We are very lucky that our paths are crossing and that she is excited to join us on our journey toward the Beloved Community that we we seek and the world so desperately needs, now more than ever. I invite you to ask a search team member why they chose Rev Lara. Each of us have our own reasons but we all share in the belief that she is the right person to lead FCU into the future.
If you what to know more about Rev. Lara before the 22nd she invites you to visit her web site http://mlarahoke.com
The journey of discovery of the Search Team is coming to a close. The journey of the congregation and it’s candidate is about to begin. Once again, thank you all for holding up the search team these past three years.
There is one more group I need to say a special thank you to. The spouses, friends and pets that have endured without us through out.
Blessings on all
